Youland T. Yarde, died October 11, 2019, with her family by her side in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Youland was born on June 13, 1941, in Georgetown, Guyana where she obtained her nursing degree from Georgetown Public Hospital. Graduate of Iona College with a master's degree. She moved to New York City, where she retired from a successful nursing career at Montefiore Medical Center. She moved to Greensboro to be close to family.

She was an active member of Trinity St Paul Episcopal Church in New Rochelle, NY, and of The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer since moving to Greensboro to be with family.

She loved her family and she enjoyed traveling the world with friends. She often spoke of her travels to Turkey, Paris, Australia, London, and most memorable, her trip to Johannesburg, South Africa. She is described as a "Special kind of Lady". One who would go out of her way to comfort others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl Warner and Andrew Thomas. Youland is survived by her daughter, Youland Williams (Albert), son, Deryck Yarde (Cheryl). Siblings, Linda Adams, Joy, Ester, Hazeline, Andrew, Jennifer, Edward, Douglas, David, Oswald and Susan Thomas, granddaughters, Caitlin Yarde, Ashley and Briana Williams Beloved, Herman Connell (UK), and cousins Melvin and Terry Gill and many nieces and nephews. She had many dear friends, who she considered family.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 11:00 - The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 901 E Friendly Ave, Greensboro, NC 27401. Funeral Services will be on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 10:30 am with viewing from 9am – 10:15 at Trinity St. Paul Episcopal Church, 311 Huguenot Street, New Rochelle, NY 10801. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, New York.
