Young-EL, was born on February 20, 1940 in McCormmick County, South Carolina. He was one of ten (10) siblings born to Jefferson Abraham Young-EL and Katie Loe Lockhreat-EL Young-EL. He passed this life on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.Willie was educated in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania School System and later enlisted in the United States National Guard. He relocated to Greensboro when he unfortunately became blind and was cared for by Lavetta Harris (Faye) until his death.Willie was preceded in death by brothers, Jefferson Abramham Young-EL,II, Thomas David Young-EL, Robert Lewis Young-EL, Tyrone Young; sisters, Loretta Young-EL, and Shirley Sue Young, EL. Willie is survived by his first wife, Barbara; sons, Willie C. Young-EL,II, Albert Young-EL, and Thomas Douglas Jefferson-EL; daughter, Myshe; brothers, John Joseph Young-EL, George Clarence Young-EL, and Ronald Young-EL; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
