Willie Jeanette Napper Combs, matriarch, school teacher, care-giver, and a life long member of Bass Chapel UM Church departed this life on Saturday, September 26, 2015.Jeanette was born March 11, 1940 in Greensboro, NC to the late Rev. Willie L. Napper and the late Mary Sue Donnell Napper.She was a 1957 graduate of James B. Dudley High School and a 1961 graduate of Bennett College, Greensboro, NC.She taught in Burkeville Intermediate School and A.G. Richardson School in Virginia over thirty-one years. She retired in 1995 and returned to Greensboro to care for her Dad and her Aunt Ida Rankin.She was preceded in death by one brother, Theodore Napper. She leaves to cherish her memory, one sister, Rev. Elizabeth (Jesse) Council of Rochester, PA, two brothers Leon (Margaret) Napper of Irvine, CA and Alfred (Joy) Napper of Baltimore, MD, one sister-in-law, LaVonne B. Napper of Belize; ten nieces and ten great nieces and great nephews, one aunt Iris Palmore of Columbus, Ohio, and many cousins.Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Bass Chapel UM Church, 5075 Bass Chapel Rd with Rev. Donald E. McCoy presiding. The family visitation will begin at 10:30 am prior to the service.
