Mrs. Willie M. Jeffries was born on Sunday, September 23, 1928 to the late Raleigh and Mary Wells in Greensboro, North Carolina. She departed this life on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina. She attended public schools in Greensboro. While attending James B. Dudley High School, a friend introduced her to Charles M. Jeffries and the courtship began. They were married on Tuesday, November 16, 1948. From that union three children were born. She was employed at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home and later at Cone Mills until her retirement in 1990. In her younger years, she enjoyed reading romance novels and listening to all types of music. She also loved to sew. She would often make identical outfits for her two young daughters. The girls were not twins, but she dressed them as though they were. The daughters found out later that this kept them from bickering about who had the prettiest outfit. Her favorite television shows were westerns, Lifetime movies and Judge Mathis. She touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity. She maintained her quick wit and sense of humor until the very end. Willie was preceded in death by her son Charles Harold Jeffries. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Charles M. Jeffries; daughters, Charlene Bridges (Maurice) of Raleigh, NC; Sabrina Holloway (Joseph) of Greensboro, NC; step-daughter, Ann Dixon (George) of Wyandanch, NY; grandson, Brian Bridges; granddaughter, Brittany Jeffries and a host of other family and friends.
