Willie L. "Buck" Green was born on February 28, 1953 to parents McKinley Green, Sr and Almetta Clyburn Green in Camden, South Carolina, Kershaw County. Willie moved with his family from Camden, SC to Greensboro, NC when he was three years old. There he attended Greensboro Public Schools. He loved to work and was proud of his many years served with the Guilford County School System and retired after working on the campusof UNC-Greensboro. Willie loved people and you could hear the laughter from which ever circle of friends you found him in the center of. While he did not have any children of his own he was a beloved uncle and shared his wisdom with many youth during his life. Willie was the youngest of 16 children and was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers one sister and is survived by his sisters Celia Moore and Hattie Mae Pitts both of Greensboro, NC, Jannie Gainey of Newport News, VA and Freedonia Stockham of Bridgeport, CT, brothers, David Green (Brenda) of Greensboro, NC, Chalmers Truesdale of Long Island, NY, Robert Truesdale and Johnnie Truesdale both of Kershaw, SC. A host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends also cherish his memory. Willie also leaves behind a special friend, Deborah Williamson with whom he spent many happy years. Mr. Willie Green died on Sunday, April 30, 2017. A service honoring his life will be held at the Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel; 909 East Market Street, Greensboro, N 27401 on Saturday, May 6, 2017. The visitation will begin at 11:30 am and the service will follow at 12:00 pm.
