Obituary

Veronica Denee' Scotton was born on September 8, 1963, in Chapel Hill, NC to Saundra B. Scotton and Clarence Scotton, Sr. She entered her eternal rest with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

She attended Holy Trinity United Holiness Church in Siler City, where she gave her life to the Lord at an early age and served him faithfully. She would say my Daddy whose name is Jesus. He watches over me, and He will never leave me nor forsake me. She moved to Greensboro and attended Word of Life Tabernacle Church until her health declined.

Veronica graduated from Jordan Matthews High School, where she played basketball. After high school, she attended Shaw University in Raleigh, NC, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

She was employed at the United States Postal Service and retired after twenty-five plus years.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her mom: Saundra Ann Brooks Scotton and her dad: Clarence Thomas Scotton, Sr.; three brothers: Clarence T. Scotton, Jr. of High Point, NC, Andre' Scotton of Siler City, NC, and Gerard Scotton (Allanda) of Greensboro, NC; one sister: Andrea Scotton of Siler City, NC; two nephews: Thomas Scotton of Fayetteville, NC and Jamal Walden of Siler City, NC; three nieces: Arissa Cooper of Raleigh, NC, Lakeishe (Phillip) Logan of Greensboro, NC, and Jamia Walden of Siler City, NC; three uncles: Lawrence and Michael Scotton of Siler City, NC, and Larry R. Brooks of Texas; two aunts: Rev. Gloria Hayes of Greensboro, NC and Ms. Amber Horton of Siler City, NC; and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.

She also leaves a special friend to cherish her memory: Eric James, and her caretaker: Cheryl James.

Funeral will be held Friday, May 24, 2024 1:30pm Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home 909 East Market Street Greensboro, North Carolina. 1pm Visitation. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park 6000 Gate City Boulevard Greensboro, North Carolina.
