Vernnell Kiser, of 1200 Blue Ridge Lane, Sandy Ridge, NC, passed on Friday, March 16th, 2018 after a lengthy battle with cancer at the age of 70. Vern, as he was lovingly known by his friends, was a father, a husband, and a countryman. Vern was born in Rowan County on June 23, 1947, to Demarkus Kiser and Eleese Richardson Kiser. Vernnell served in the United States Army in the Special Forces (Green Beret) and later as an MP (Military Policeman). Vernnell was the youngest sibling of 8. He is preceded (in death) by Cleo Mitchell, Lee Mark Kiser, Kay Walter Kiser, Troy Kiser, Ray Kiser, and Vennest Morehead. He is survived by his wife Jo Ann Richardson Kiser, 3 daughters, Vernnetta Kiser-Brooks (Nichole Brooks - wife), LaTonya Lee, Sherry Lee (Robert Lovett – husband), granddaughter Jasmine Lee, Brother Don Kiser, niece Tammy Morehead, nephew Derek Morehead, nephew Michael Kiser and a host of loving family and friends.

A memorial service honoring his life will be held on Sunday, March 25th, 2018 at the Cassie Coote-Brown Chapel of Perry J. Brown Funeral Home; 909 E Market St. Greensboro, NC 27401. The visitation will begin at 3:30 pm with the service following at 4 pm.
