Valerie Reed
Crawford
Jul 27, 1981 — Aug 27, 2026
Kernersville
Valerie (Reed) Crawford, 45, passed away unexpectedly on August 27, 2026. Born on July 27, 1981, in Jamaica, New York, to Valerie Anderson and Robert D. Reed, Valerie lived a life defined by faith, love, selfless devotion, and unwavering dedication to her family.
Valerie attended Salem College, where she majored in music and received classical vocal training. Blessed with an extraordinary voice, a gift from God, she sang before she could even speak. With a passion for music and the arts, she performed in numerous productions and led church choirs. Valerie worked for the Department of Social Services for six years, translating and supporting Latino and underserved populations.
Valerie's love for God was tremendous, and her desire to make Heaven her home was her highest priority, followed closely by her love for her family. On May 5, 2013, she married the love of her life, Timothy Crawford, and together they were blessed with four sons, Joel (12), Seth (9), Myles (7), and Noah (5), as well as a beloved stepson, Gavin Crawford (20).
Valerie dedicated herself to homeschooling her four young boys, creating a home filled with learning, encouragement, laughter, and love. She poured her time, energy, and heart into her family, always putting the needs of those she loved before her own. She treasured every moment spent with her husband and children and found deep fulfillment in watching them grow.
Above all else, Valerie loved the Lord. Her faith was the foundation of her life and the source of her strength. Through her kindness, compassion, and unwavering trust in God, she touched the lives of many and reflected Christ's love to everyone she met.
Valerie will be remembered for her gentle spirit, generous heart, steadfast faith, and the immeasurable love she shared with her family and friends. Though her passing leaves an enormous void, those who knew and loved her find comfort in knowing that she is now in the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 13 years, Tim Crawford; her cherished sons, Gavin, Joel, Seth, Myles, and Noah; her mother, Valerie Anderson; her brother, Robert D. Reed; her five sisters, Angelita, Morgan, Megan, Christian, and Aniah; her grandmother, Florine Reed; and a host of cherished cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends. Her legacy of faith, love, and devotion will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her.
Valerie was preceded in death by her son, Theo; her father, Robert D. Reed; her grandfather, John Reed; her uncle, Willie Jean Robinson; her aunt, Gwendolyn Robinson; and her maternal grandmother, Beatrice Anderson.
