Troy Lee Godette was born in Havelock, NC on December 16, 1943. He departed this life on November 19, 2016. He was the ninth of ten children born to the late Aceline and Willie Godette. As a boy, he joined Craven Corner Missionary Baptist Church in Havelock, NC. Troy graduated from Queen Street High School in Beaufort, NC. He earned an Associate Degree in Drafting from North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC. His career spanned over forty years as a mechanical consultant on projects that included the Washington National Cathedral and US embassies in Moscow, Russia, Berlin, Germany, and Hamburg, Germany. He was also co-owner of Kamiran Spring Water. He was united in marriage to Minerva Jones Godette of Clinton, NC. They were married for fifty years. From this marriage three children were born. Troy was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC. He was a member of the Men's Club. Funeral will be held at Providence Baptist Church, 1106 Tuscaloosa St. Greensboro, NC 27406 on Saturday, November 26th at 1 pm.
