Thomas Glenn, Jr. was born on August 18, 1948 to the late Thomas and Cora Glenn in Roxboro, North Carolina. He was called from labor on Saturday, August 22, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, sons: Travis and Julius Glenn, and a brother: Leroy Glenn. Thomas received his education in the Person County public schools where he was a member of a local band called the (Oasis) and enjoyed playing the trumpet. After completing high school, he joined the Job Corp and learned the trade of painting. Prior to his long illness, Thomas owned and managed his own painting company and was involved in repainting some of the Church's Chicken restaurants. He also assisted his father with the landscaping business. His father gave him the nickname "Donahue", because he did not show up for work until after the Donahue Show. The nickname made him very upset. However, he did not improve on his tardiness. Thomas received Christ in his life at an early age. He joined the Sanctuary Deliverance Church where he attended until his health began to fail. He continued to be a firm believer in God and always had a prayer for someone until his death. Thomas leaves to cherish his memory a very loving and devoted wife: Yvette Glenn; son: Patrick Glenn, brothers: Elders R. B. Glenn, Vernon Glenn (Jessica) of Norristown, PA, and Mark Glenn (Delores) of Greensboro, NC; sisters: Dora Hallmark (Robert) of Alexandria, VA, Jeanette McGhee (Lysander) and Betty Allred (Richard) of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren: Jeremiah and P.J.; stepchildren: Darienne and Moriah; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A service honoring the life of Thomas Glenn, Jr. will take place at Sanctuary of Deliverance Church, 3631 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, North Carolina 27405 on Friday August 27, 2015. The visitation will begin at 11:00 am, and the service will follow at 11:30 am. The Interment will take place at Lakeview Memorial Park, 3600 N O'Henry Boulevard, Greensboro, North Carolina 27405.
