Thelma Lee Matkins Abbott daughter of the late Franklin Leon Madkins and the late Linnie Mae Graves Madkins, was born in Alamance County on June 21, 1946. She departed this life on December 10, 2014 at Moses Cone Hospital. Thelma attended Guilford and Alamance Counties schools. She was an employee at McKnight (ACE) Hardware Company for forty-two (42) years in Greensboro. Thelma was united in holy matrimony to Charlie Lindsey Abbot and was a loving and devoted mother. She was preceded in death by her son Michael A. Matkins. Thelma leaves to cherish her memories, husband of forty-seven (47) years: Charlie Lindsey Abbott; brother: Albert Madkins; sisters: Rosia M. Rorie, Helen R. Thompson (Frank), Clemmytene Madkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
