GREENSBORO â?? Thelma LaVonia Christine Spruill Robinson Burwell was born on June 22, 1941 to the late Elder John Spruill and Mother Ernestine Spruill in Gulf, NC and entered into eternal rest on October 19, 2012 in Greensboro, NC. Thelma was a well respected musician, educator, and leader in the community who was a graduate of Bennett College. A life-long member of Wells Memorial COGIC, her angelic voice could be heard in various choirs and churches as a featured singer, choir director, and musician. She leaves to cherish her memory: Mother Ernestine Spruill; five children through her first marriage to George Robinson: Dale, Raquel, Ursula, Reginald, and Ronald (Mary) Robinson; six step-sons through her marriage to the late Larry Burwell,: Denard, Stevie (Brenda), Darius, Larry, Jr, and Calvin Burwell; siblings: John Spruill II, Reginald Spruill (Hazel), Edith Davis, Joyce Spruill, Michelle Moon (Ulysses) and Tony Spruill; six grandchildren and a host of relatives. The body has been entrusted to Perry J. Brown Funeral home of Greensboro, NC. Family visitation and viewing of the body will be at 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and service at 12:30 p.m. on Friday May 26, 2012 at Evangel Fellowship COGIC.
