Sylvester H. Wike was born January 25, 1947 in Concord, NC Cabarrus County, to the late Charles and Lucile Wike. Sylvester entered into eternal peace Tuesday June 25, 2019 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. Sylvester affectionately known as 'Tweety' attended elementary and secondary education in the Greensboro Public School System.

However, he was a graduate of James B. Dudley High School class of 1965. Following graduation, Sylvester joined the United States Air Force August 15, 1965-September 14, 1968, where he received an Honorable Discharge. He served and survived the Vietnam War along with other designated assignments ordered. Sylvester served as Postal Management Specialist- Vietnam Saigon and achieved a rank of Sergeant.

During his tenure in the Air Force, Sylvester was joined in holy matrimony August 20, 1966 to Alice (Ann) Y. Barber, where two children were born daughter Alycia Y. Wike son, Antoine L. Wike. Later in life, Sylvester married Audrey Kendrick and to this union son, Jhari E. Wike was born. For a time, Sylvester lived in Roosevelt, NY where he attended Hunter Business School-Levittown, NY, May 23, 2002 and received a Computerized Career Skills Diploma October 8, 2002.

Sylvester was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Lucille Wike, and brother John Wike. He leaves to rejoice in his memory daughter Alycia Y. Wike Fentress (Orlando) Detroit, MI, two sons Antoine L. Wike, Detroit, MI, and Jhari E. Wake, Atlanta, GA; two sisters Charlene Harrison (Charles), Sugar Land, TX, and Linda Allison (Dolan), China Grove, NC; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grand children, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

And a very special Lady 'Ann', we all I'm sure will remember Tweety's beautiful smile, some funny sense of humor, and just how sharp he always dressed. His favorite pastime was listening to music especially gospel.

The service honoring his life will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at End Time Harvest Apostolic Holiness Church; 308 Village Green Dr. Greensboro, NC. The service will begin at 12pm.
