Obituary
Mr. Steven Tate was born October 27, 1952 to loving parents, the late Ivory W. Tate and Delores M. Tate in Greensboro, NC. He passed on Friday, March 8, 2019 at home. A Memorial Service will be held for Steven on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 12 pm, in the Perry J. Brown Chapel.
Steven was educated in the Guilford County Schools where he graduated from James B. Dudley Senior High School, Class of 1971. He attended North Carolina A&T State University and North Carolina Central University prior to enlisting in the United States Air Force. Steven was a Vietnam Veteran who served his country honorably.
Steven was a retiree of AT&T (Bell South Company) in Greensboro. He was an advocate and outdoors man with interests as hunter, fisherman, carpenter and electrician. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Ivory W. Tate, Sr. and his brother, Mr. Morris Tate. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Delores M. Tate of Greensboro; three brothers: Mr. Ivory W. Tate, Jr., Mr. Ronnie L. Tate, both of Greensboro; and Minister Norris Tate (wife Hom) and their son, Timothy of Navarre, Florida; and one daughter, Jamica Tate of Greensboro. Aunts: Dorothy Stephens and Jessie Cardwell of Greensboro. Others who will cherish his memory include a host of relatives and friend. Memorial contributions may be made to New Light Missionary Baptist Church, Greensboro, North Carolina.
