RUBY GRIFFIN WATLINGTON was born in Guilford County on June 23, 1934, to the late Lymus Richard Griffin and Pearl Guy Griffin. Following a very lengthy illness, transition from earthly life to life everlasting took place on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at Wesley Long Hospital.

Ruby was a life-long resident of Greensboro, NC and resided in her own apartment, located at Morning Joy Place, Greensboro, NC. She attended public schools in Greensboro and graduated from James B. Dudley High School in 1952. She did further study in biology at Bennett College, and North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. She had been employed at AT&T, the United State Postal Service, and was an In-Home Professional Nurse.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband: Claude (Jack) Watlington; parents: Lymus and Pearl Griffin; and brother: Richard (Pete) Griffin.

Ruby was of Methodist faith and enjoyed attending church services before her declining health of many years. She was a good wife, sister, aunt and a friend to all who knew her.

Ruby leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory: sister: Dr. Lauree Griffin Lane; brothers: Ernie Griffin (Alice), Willoughby Guy (Edna), Leon Guy (Linda) and adopted brother: Lymus Leon Griffin (Sheila) all of Greensboro, NC; a special nephew: Adrian Griffin (Shalane) of Greensboro, NC; and a god-daughter: Roberta Watlington.
