Ruby Lucille Talton Reaves of Greensboro, died Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Moses Cone Hospital. She was born in Quitman, GA on August 22, 1941 to the late Reuben and Annie M. Talton. After graduating from James B. Dudley High School, Ruby worked for several years as a sales associate. A life long devoted Christian, Ruby was an active member of her home church True Word of Life Ministries where she was an ordained minister, led bible study, and taught Sunday School. She was also an active participant in her senior living community where she was a member of The Red Hat Society. Never one to waste time, Ruby enjoyed participating in group exercise programs, taking community outings, reading her bible, fellowshipping with other residents, and spending time with her older brother, daughters, and treasured friends. Ruby is survived by her two daughters, LaVondia Gibson and Gina Gibson, both of Stockbridge, GA; her older brother Reuben Talton of Greensboro and four other siblings: Jewel Williams (Al) of Clinton, MD; Morris Talton of Forestville, MD; James Talton (Bertha Faye) of Greensboro; and Lethia Talton of Greensboro; uncle James D. Page; ten surviving nieces and nephews; and a host of church family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her late sister Annie L. Brown of Greensboro. A service honoring her life will be held on Friday September 13, 2019 at True Word of Life Ministries; 4000 Hwy 29 N. O'Henry Blvd. Greensboro, NC. Visitation will begin at 10:30am with service following at 11am.
