Rosa Hooker Sellers was born one of three children March 15, 1928 in Randleman, North Carolina to the late Joe and Ethel Watts. She transitioned to her heavenly home on July 17, 2018. Her early education was through Randolph County Public Schools. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Winston-Salem State University, a very proud Ram and member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and received her Master of Arts Degree from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.

Rosa was married to the late Reverend Liston Sellers, Jr. on his birthday, August 12, 1953. She served and worked diligently playing the piano at several of his pastorate he was appointed to. She held memberships in various civic and professional organizations; Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Eta Phi Beta Sorority, past member of clergy spouse, Nursing Home Advisory Group. North Carolina Retired Teachers Association, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and several others.

Rosa will best be remembered for her kind and loving spirit and generous nature. All who entered her home were filled with love. She was supportive of not only various charities near and dear to her heart, but anyone who came to her with a fundraiser or new business venture.

Rosa was preceded in death by parents: Joe and Ethel Watts; brother: John Hooker; sister: Anne Daniels; and loving husband of sixty-two years, Reverend Liston Sellers, Jr.

Rosa leaves to cherish her memories son: Curtis Lamar Sellers of the home; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and "adopted" children, and many friends.

A service honoring her life will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at St. Johns United Methodist Church; 1304 Merritt Dr, Greensboro, NC 27407. The visitation will be held at 11 am with an AKA service at 11:45 am and funeral service will follow at 12 pm. The interment will take place following the service at Guilford Memorial Park; 6000 Gate City Blvd. Greensboro, NC.
