Rosa Jackson Canty was born in Charlotte, NC on December 11, 1940 and went to her Heavenly home on June 22, 2017. She attended Brown Summit High School where she was active in playing basketball, volleyball and sung in the glee club. She was the first woman assistant who coached the eastern league team. Rosa was the Relief Chef at Piccadilly Cafeteria and was also a kitchen manager at K & W. She worked at a host of different restaurants and cafeterias. She worked at Aramark Uniform Services for the last 16 years until she retired last year. Rosa was known for her beautiful watermelon baskets and awesome catering that she did for years throughout the Greensboro area. She also baked the most delicious cakes, cupcakes and cheesecakes. She attended Providence Baptist Church, in Greensboro, NC. She is preceded in death by her daughter Cheryl Hasane and brother Elmo Hicklin. She leaves to cherish her memories her son Michael Canty {Keisha} and devoted Grandson Brandon Canty, who took great care of her doing her time of sickness. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially great granddaughter Maliha Canty; Brothers of Charlotte, NC John Jackson, George Jackson, Jim Hicklin {Sylvia}, nieces, nephews and special friends Jennifer Miller {Donald} and Arisha McEachirn {Keith}. Rosa was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
