Roosevelt Montie "Marty" Raines, died peacefully on February 2, 2019 at the Veterans Hospital in Salisbury, North Carolina. 'Marty' was born on May 4, 1955 to the late Roosevelt Raines and the late Thelma Ashe Raines. In addition to his parents, 'Marty' was preceded in death by his two brothers, Clarence Milton Raines and Walter Raines. He attended Guilford County Schools, and graduated from James B. Dudley Sr. High School. In 1973, 'Marty' joined the United States Marine Corps and served his country to 1975 and received an honorable discharged. In 1990 'Marty' married Tonya Michelle Enoch and to this union was born one child, Marti Michelle Raines of Greensboro, N.C. Roosevelt 'Marty' Raines leaves to cherish his memory his wife: Tonya M.E. Raines; daughter: Marti Michelle Raines; three grandsons: Cadan Bell, Christian-Alan Bell, Prince Roosevelt Bell; Sister-in-law: Sherrita L. Enoch all of Greensboro, NC; 3 Nieces; 2 Great Nieces;1 Great Nephew; Cousins: Carolyn and Folly Haith of Phoenix, Arizona; Hubert, Ray, and George Bailey of Cary, NC; Carlos Raines, Lifetime Brothers: Hubert " Buck" Westmoreland and Wayne Neal and a host of family in Reidsville, NC, and Lots of Friends.

A service honoring his life will be held Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the Rescue Temple #1; 601 Franklin Blvd. Greensboro, NC. The visitation will begin at 12:30 pm and the service will follow at 1 pm.
