April 5, 1932 - March 16, 2012 GREENSBORO - Our loving and devoted father, Robert Lee "Bob" Jones, departed this life on March 16, 2012. He married his high school sweetheart and chose a career in the United States Marine Corps. His military service includes over 20 years of active duty and a tour in Vietnam. He achieved the highest rank of MGySgt (E9) as a Non Commissioned Officer. He was an active member of Wadsworth Congregational Church and served as chair of the trustee board. He was also a member of the Armed Forces Retirees Club where he held several offices, He was preceded in death by our mother, Loretta Jones, parents, Clyde and Ann Jackson Jones, his brother, Clyde Jones, Jr., sisters in laws, Nina Jones, Rosalie Foy and Pauline Quick, brother in laws, Alfred Foust, Marvin Whitted and Fredric Quick. He leaves to cherish in his memory, his four children, Robert Todd Jones, Carla Turnage and her husband Wayne, Lorie Jones Baker and Robin Jones Montgomery and her husband, Stanley, sister Gloria Whitted, brother Charles Jones and his wife Glenda, three grandchildren Marcus Turnage, Kimberly Turnage and Tyler Montgomery, sisters in laws, Elda Duren, Alma Fox, Deborah Mitchell and her fiancée, James Morehead, Ruth Foust, Geneva Jones and an aunt, Corrine Dixon. Survivors also include nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of his life will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Wadsworth Congregational Church with the Reverend George A. Wooten officiating. Viewing will begin at 12 p.m. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Perry J. Brown Funeral Home is serving the Jones Family.
