Morrison, Jr. affectionately known as â??Popâ??, was born October 11, 1929 to the late Wade H. Morrison, Sr. and Viola McCauley Morrison in Candor, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his wife: Susie Morrison; daughter: Reverend Betty Moore; sister: Mary Ann Goodson; and brother: Franklin Morrison.Reverend Morrison attended North Carolina Agricultural &Technical State University and later enrolled at Livingston College, Salisbury, NC; John Wesley College, High Point, NC; and the U.C.B.I. of Durham, NC. He received a Bachelor of Theology, Master of Divinity, and a Doctorate of Divinity. Reverend Dr. Morris L. Johnson, pastor of Poplar Grove A.M.E. Church, Persimmon Grove A.M.E. and Turner Chapel A.M.E. Church was his instructor and mentor.After receiving his first appointment at Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem NC, Reverend Morrison was active and dedicated to the following organizations. Mars-Hill Hartland Circuit Morganton, NC; Union Bethel A.M.E., Winston-Salem NC; St. Paul A.M.E. Church Mount Airy, NC; Turner Chapel A.M.E. Church, High Point, NC; Wayman Chapel A.M.E., Graham, NC; Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church, Roxboro, NC; Queen Chapel A.M.E. Church, Burlington, NC; Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church, Efland, NC; and St. John A.M.E. Church, Gibsonville, NC. He always had the support of his wife and children who were always by his side. He would always say: â??To God be the Glory!â?? Brother Wade H. Morrison, Jr.â??s â??Walk In Prince Hall Free And Accepted Masonsâ?? in the state of North Carolina and jurisdiction. He held the following positions: Past Grand Chaplain of Prince Hall Masons of North Carolina; Past Master of McLeansville Lodge #621; Treasurer at the timeof his death and was currently serving as Worthy Patron of Five Point Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #510 at McLeansville Lodge #621. His steps were deep and will never perish from our Lodge.Reverend Morrison leaves to cherish his memories: daughters: Linda Aldridge, LaVerne Kimber, Alice (Arliss) Minniefield; son:Wade Morrison, III; sister: Dinnah Morrison Gilmer; twenty-two (22) grandchildren and twenty-three (23) great grand-children.BEHOLD, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard,even Aaronâ??s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments.
