Obituary

Rebecca Thompson Rogers was born in Caswell County on February 20, 1945 to the late Walter and Maggie Swann Thompson. She departed this earthly life at her home on Thursday, June 4, 2015. Rebecca attended Graham Central High School and later graduated in 1963. She graduated from Guilford Technical Community College and received her associates degree in food management. Rebecca pursued her passion in cooking by baking and managing a store. She furthered her career and ventured to obtain employment with The Home Depot where she retired. During her retirement Rebecca spent time doing what she enjoyed which was gardening and becoming more in depth in Gods Word. She worked effortless within the Love and Faith Christian Fellowship ministries that consisted of Greeters, Love and Care, Oncology Circle of Healing, Seasons Saints the Senior Choir and the Encouragement Ministry. Her work was a struggle to get around she still maintain communication by calling and checking on those she loved. Rebecca was a true woman of God and she maintained her walk him throughout her life. Her reflection poured in many lives that she crossed through her soft and long lasting smile and through the comforting words that she expressed when spoken. There was never a time that Rebecca wasn't concerned for others. She always found the strength to visit the sick or comfort those that the spirit led her to. Although during her last days there was a struggle to get around she still maintain communication by calling and checking on those she loved. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter Thompson, Eugene Thompson and Sylvester Thompson. She leaves in God's righteous care, two daughters; Sharon K. Brandon of Cape Coral, FL and Kenyetta Matier (James) of Greensboro, NC; three sisters, Estelle Smoot of Washington,DC, Lola Enoch of Graham and Ada Thompson of Greensboro; four brothers, John Level and Howard Thompson and Harvey Thompson both of Burlington, NC; two grandchildren, Adriel J. Brandon of Cape Coral, FL and Sheera A. Morrison (Dwight) of Tampa, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. T. Rogers died Thursday, June 4, 2015. The funeral will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, at Love and Faith Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Professional service entrusted to Perry J. Brown Funeral Home.
