GREENSBORO â?? Mrs. Pearl G. Bradley was "removed from this place" to meet her Heavenly Father on February 4, 2012 following a brief stay at Beacon Place in Greensboro. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church with family visitation beginning at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Mrs. Bradley was a well-known and devoted school teacher of Greensboro during the Mid-20th century. Her teaching career began as a sixth grade teacher at the J. C. Price Elementary School, continued at the James B. Dudley High School, and ended at the North Carolina A&T State University. In 1980, she retired as Professor from North Carolina A&T State University. She graduated from James B. Dudley High School, A&T College where she earned the B.S. Degree, the University of Michigan where she earned the Master's degree, and The Ohio State University earning the Ph.D. degree in Public Address and Rhetoric. Her dissertation subject was "A Criticism of the Modes of Persuasion Found in Selected Civil Rights Addresses of John F. Kennedy, 1962-1963." At A&T she won the 1939 title "Miss A&T." Mrs. Bradley was a 50-year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., earning her the title of "Golden Soror." She was a well-known inspirational speaker and community activist serving in various leadership and volunteer positions in support of causes vital to the entire Greensboro community She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester L. Bradley, a Dudley High School and A&T graduate, and former Dudley vice principal and football coach. To mourn their loss, she leaves her beloved family - daughter, Jean Marie (Jeannie) Boone; grandson, André Bradley Boone; granddaughter, Tonia J. Boone; son-in-law, Walter Randall (Randy) Boone; a special friend, Ernestine Baldwin, and a host of other dear friends and well-wishers - everywhere. Perry J. Brown Funeral Home is assisting the family.
