On September 26, 2016 Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ reached down and took home one of His children at the tender age of 67. Ms. Patricia Ann McDaniel Jones was born on November 16, 1948 in Greensboro, North Carolina. She graduated from James B. Dudley High School and attended college at Greensboro College. She worked as an Accountant/Bookkeeper most of her life in the corporate field. "Mother Jones" was a member of For the Love of God Fellowship Church, where she served as the oldest Mother of the church. She taught adult Sunday school, was an administrator, a great contributor, a strong prayer warrior and had a love for all children in the church. She was a woman of many gifts. Patricia was predeceased by her father, Mr. Otis L. McDaniel, Sr.; her mother, Elizabeth L. Moore McDaniel and one of her brothers, Mr. O. Leroy McDaniel, Jr. Patricia leaves to cherish her two children: Deborah Elaine Waddell Hairston (Roland) and Isaiah Layne Waddell, Jr. (LaToya); two special daughters: Janice R. Waddell Harris of Greensboro, NC and Janie R. Waddell Hairston (Tyrone) of Sanford, NC; Stepmother: Ms. Romania McDaniel; one brother: R. Elroy McDaniel (Gladys) of Graham, NC. Three sisters: Beverly "sidekick" McLamb (Tony), Emma Edwards both of Greensboro, NC and Renae McDaniel of Charlotte, NC. A special sister Jean Allred of Fayetteville, NC and a special great aunt Rosetta "Mama Zet" Pinson of Greensboro, NC. She leaves to cherish seven grandchildren: Joshua Deyon Waddell (Kenyoda), Patrick Isaiah Waddell, Justin Isaiah Waddell, Michael Jayvon Waddell, Micah Amon Hairston, Zachariah Alexander Waddell, Gabrielle Alexandria Waddell; one great grandson: Joshua Deyon Waddell, Jr.; two special grandchildren Damion O'Taris McLaughlin of Danville, VA and Kaylyn Aja'h Spruill of Greensboro, NC. Patricia also leaves to cherish a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.A service honoring her life will be held at Rescue Temple number 1 Church of God in Christ; 601 Franklin Boulevard, Greensboro, North Carolina, 27401 on Saturday, October 1, 2016. The visitation will begin at 12:30 pm and the service will follow at 1:00 pm. The burial will take place following the service at Maplewood Cemetery; 235 Bingham Street, Greensboro, North Carolina 27401.
