Willie Beard Jr. 84 of 4204 Halifax Road, Greensboro NC, gained his wings on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. He was born on May 4th , 1939 to the Late Glen Dora Adams and Willie Beard, Sr.

He was married to Lizzie Mae Harrison Beard for 50 years. He attended the Pittsylvania County Virginia Schools. Being born to Christian parents, he received Christ at a very young age. Overseer Beard entered into the Ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ in the year 1978. Moving his family from Washington DC to Greensboro NC in 1980. He was ordained and installed as Pastor Beard at Wesley Jane Holiness Church in Burlington NC until the declining of his health. Overseer Beard pastored Wesley Jane Holiness Church for 37 years. Today Pastor Lizzie Beard still pastors Wesley Jane Holiness Church.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, the Late Glen Dora Adams Beard, and Willie Beard, Sr. Three brothers Casper Beard, Nepolian Beard and Clyde Beard and one sister Evon Beard Johnson. One daughter Patricia Tara Ann Taylor.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted and loving wife, Lizzie M. Beard, four daughters; Glennette Allah (Infinite Star), Cynthia Green, Cheryelle Beard, Gwendolyn Beard, all of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and one son; Willie Beard Jr. III. Also from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Four Stepchildren; Swager Harrison (Jean), Columbia SC, Jacqueline S. Bynum (Bobby), Greensboro, NC Sha'ron Sumler, Hyattsville,MD., Carolina Dixson (Norman), Spotsylvania Va. Two loving brothers; Andrew Beard (Sandra) and Larry Beard (The late Sharon) both of Danville, Virginia. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren nieces and nephews who loved him dearly, and a host of other relatives and friends..

Funeral service will be held Sunday, November 12, 2023 1pm Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home 909 E. Market St. Greensboro, NC. 12:30pm Visitation. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery 3910 Forest Lawn Dr. Greensboro, NC.
