Oschia Lee (Hofler) Overton was born July 8, 1934 in Gatesville, NC to the late Mamie Atkins (mother) and Gurtha Hofler (father). In her younger years, Oschia was a nurse and a C.N.A for many years, and a seamstress all while raising her 5 children. Oschia was blessed to be a minister for God throughout her life leading many to the Lord. She was loved by many for her joyful and infectious laugh , her generous and big heart, and her love and care for those in need. She enjoyed spending time with her family and had a hand in raising many of the younger generations. She was preceded in death by her sister Elsie

Hofler; daughter, Mamie Louise Overton; son, An-drew Jordan; and husband, Joseph Overton Jr.Those who remain here to cherish all the loving memories are her daughter, Oschia M. Harris; sons Joseph S. Overton (Kelly) and Willie M. Jor-dan (Lois); brother James Hofler; Rachel L Kaplan (granddaughter raised by Oschia Over-ton); 4 granddaughters; 6 grandsons; 7 greatgrands; and a blessed amount of nieces, nephews, cousins (greats and included) and friends. Oschia will be greatly missed as she touched the lives of so many and continue to do so even in her passing. A private Memorial Service will be held in the Cassie Coote-Brown Chapel of Perry J. Brown Funeral Home.
