Obituary

Nannie T. Baldwin, the daughter of Sallie McRay was born February 23, 1941 in Reidsville, NC. She departed this life on December 14, 2016 at her home surrounded by her devoted family. Nannie received her formal education in Hillsborough, NC. She started her young adult life as a homemaker, later an industrial worker and for many years on a private duty nurse before retiring. She was a loving, caring devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to all. Nannie enjoyed traveling, shopping, going out, spending time with her family and having a good time. She was a member of Bridge Of Hope Church, where Lead Pastor Trevor Reid presides, until her health declined. Nannie was active in the women's and senior's ministries of the church. Nannie's siblings preceded her in death, sisters Christine Thompson and Maxine Thompson. She leaves behind her identical twin sister, Fannie Snipes of Burlington, NC. Of her four children, one son preceded her in death Ronald L. "Skeeter" Newman. Those she leaves to cherish her memories are two daughters Mattie Noreiga (Tremaine) of High Point, NC; Aletha Newman King (Lawrence) of Greensboro, NC; one son, Jesse Newman (LaVerne) of Charlotte, NC; eldest grandchild, Crista Pompey; following eight additional grandchildren; eldest great-grandchild Amari Lee; following fourteen additional great-grandchildren; devoted first cousin Slyvia Jean Newman; her best friends Trina and Tiffany Morton; devoted friends Pastor Blackman; Pastor Keith Russell and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
