Myrcia LaGreta Chambers, also known as "Poppy" went home to be with the Lord on August 17, 2016. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 12 noon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Inc., 1301 Alamance Church Road. The family will receive friends at 11:30 a.m. Poppy had an upbeat spirit and zest for life. She thoroughly enjoyed socializing with family, friends and inspiring her students. Poppy was employed with Guilford County Schools at Hairston Middle School. She also worked at Page High School, Aetna Insurance Company and Kroger Grocery Store. Poppy was preceded in death by her father John Nelson Davis, grandmother, Mattie Williams, sister, Trebor Davis, step-father, Albert (Pops) Brown and grandniece, Rachylle Topps. She is survived by her mother Hattie Mae Williams Miller of Greensboro, NC; three children Esther Scott, Kim Chambers and Winston (Sindi) Chambers of Los Angeles, California, 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
