Obituary

Elizabeth Anne Dick Rogers Lindsey 83, known to most lovingly as Anne passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Camden Nursing Facility. God saw she was ready to receive her Crown, so he called her home.

Anne was a lifelong member of Wadsworth Congregational Church where She served on many Auxiliaries. She was the Chairperson of the Trustee Board for several years and remained a Trustee while health permitted.She was also on the Usher Board, Missionary Society, Pastor’s Aide, HNC Spiritual Choir, worked with the youth of the church and served on the kitchen committee.

Anne graduated from Sedalia High School in 1959. She continued her education and graduated from Winston-Salem State University (formerly Winston-Salem Teacher’s College) in 1963, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Teaching.

She taught in the Guilford County School System and at Shadybrook Elementary School in High Point, NC for 25 plus years. After retiring from Shadybrook, she also worked for several years as a substitute teacher in Guilford County Schools. Anne had a great passion for teaching and emphatically wanted young children to learn.

Anne was a member of ETA PHI BETA Sorority Incorporated in the Gamma Lambda chapter of Sedalia, North Carolina and the Alpha Rho Chapter of Greensboro,NC. She served in many capacities on the local level, regional level and national level. She was the proudest of her years as President of Gamma Lambda Chapter and its signature fundraiser “Miss Gamma Lambda.” She loved ETA PHI BETA society and remained active as long as her health allowed, demonstrating its Motto: “Not for Ourselves, But for Others.”

Anne was born May 2, 1942, to the union of Benjamin Dick and Ossie Foust Dick. One older brother Charles Everett Dick who preceded her in death September 2025, two husbands who also preceded her in death: John C. Rogers, Sr., and James Lindsey.

She leaves to eternally honor her legacy: Her son, John C. Rogers, Jr. of Greensboro, NC, two granddaughters, Jasmine C. Rogers of Charlotte, NC and Jenea C. Rogers of Greensboro, NC, of whom she did everything humanly possible for.

She also leaves to cherish her beloved sister-in laws: Claudette Rogers Culbreath. Virginia Lindsey, Gloria Lindsey, Doris Outlaw. and Marcia Ann Lindsey Brothers. Brother in laws Vernard Rogers, Tyrone Rogers,and Nathaniel Lindsey. Nieces Saundra Ross, Arlene McKensie, Brenda Dick, Chana Dick and a host of other beloved nieces, Nephews Michael Culbreath, Marcus Culbreath, Johnathan Culbreath, Charles Dick Jr and host of other beloved nephews. Also numerous adored and cherished cousins in the Dick, Lindsay, Foust, Clapp Families and many loved and treasured friends. Special thanks to Hattie McCrimmon, Melvin Dick, Georgia Shepard, and Saundra Ross.

Funeral service will be held Friday, March 27, 2026, 11:00 a.m. Wadworth Congregational Church 1301 Rock Creek Dairy Rd, Whitsett, NC  Visitation 10:30 a.m.

Burial will be held Friday, March 27, 2026, 2 p.m. Guilford Memorial Park 6000 W. Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27407.
