Peter James Wesley Jr., affectionately known as “June” or “Alabama,” passed away on March 23, 2026, at Infinity Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born on August 5, 1952, in Akron, Alabama, to the late Peter James Wesley Sr. and Elnora Hines Wesley. He was preceded in death by his sister, Annette Wesley.

Peter served honorably in the United States Air Force, demonstrating a sense of duty and commitment during his years of service. He spent time in Greensboro, North Carolina during his adult years, and lived much of his life in California and Nevada, where he made his home in later years.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted partner, Rosalyn Goodlow of the home; his daughter, Angela W. Spivey (Derrick) of Wake Forest, North Carolina; his son, OB Goodlow of the home; his grandson, Jadon Spivey of Wake Forest, North Carolina.

Peter is also survived by his siblings: Robert Wesley of Las Vegas, Nevada; Lovell Wesley (Peggy) of Greensboro, North Carolina; Nellie Ray of Las Vegas, Nevada; Esther Capers of Jamestown, North Carolina; and Laura Wesley of Las Vegas, Nevada; and a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Peter will be remembered for his strong sense of family and his willingness to offer guidance and wisdom to those around him.
