Reid went to be with our Heavenly Father on June 18, 2013 passing away peacefully in his sleep. Milton was an early Christmas present to his parents being born on December 24, 1926. He was the fifth of seven children born to Milton and Nora Reid of Fremont, North Carolina.Milton graduated as class valedictorian from Fremont High School, before honorably serving his country during WWII in Germany. After returning to the states, he attended North Carolina Central University graduating with a degree in science. While attending NCCU he met the one true love of his life, Vilma Wilson marrying her in September 1948. After settling in Greensboro in 1957, Milton went to work for the United States Postal Service from where he retired in 1987.Milton loved almost all sports. He was an avid golfer and bowler, playing in several bowling leagues over the years. He even took the knowledge from his job, serving in different officer positions with a couple of the bowling leagues he was involved with.Milton was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Hiawatha and Charney; one sister: Giulia; his beloved Vilm; and one son that passed away before being named.Surviving Milton are his wife: Costella; children: William Waheed of Selma, Alabama, Vedrene Reid of High Point, North Carolina and W.W. Reid (Kathy) of Seattle, Washington; sister: Auldrey L. Hubbard of Kensington, California; brothers: Leon Reid (Clara) of Sun Lakes, Arizona and Willard Reid (Karyn) of Dumfries, Virginia; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a host of nieces; nephews; other family members and close friends.
