GREENSBORO â?? Mildred B. Cohen, died on May 2, 2012. Funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 9 at Hayes Memorial United Holy Church at 12 p.m. Mildred Lee Bumpas Cohen entered into eternal rest on May 2, 2012.She was born on October 17, 1918 in Liberty, North Carolina to the late Clifton Bumpas and Mary Anna Bumpas. She attended J.C. Price School in Greensboro, North Carolina.Mildred was a member of Bethel A.M. E. Zion Church of Greensboro, North Carolina and later joined Hayes Memorial United Holiness Church, where she served as a faithful member for many years.She was involved in many facets of Hayes Memorial Holy Church being a member of the Gospel Choir, Nurses Aid, Usher Board, and the Willing Workers Club.During her lifetime, she held many different jobs. Her main focus was a certified home health care provider where she assisted senior citizens in Guilford County and surrounding areas. Her passion was to aid others until her health declined and had to be cared for herself. Through the years she made many friends and acquaintances.In 1945, Mildred met and married her husband, Buster (Sylvester) Cohen in Greensboro, North Carolina. They were married for over twenty (20) years until his death.Mildred was preceded in death by her husband: Buster (Sylvester) Cohen; three (3) sisters; one brother; and two (2) grandsons: Edward Boone and Darryl Jerome Powell.Mildred leaves to cherish her memories: son: James Ervin Bumpas; daughter: Dorothy Bryant Powell both of Greensboro, North Carolina; daughter-in-law: Gloria Bumpas of Greensboro, North Carolina; grandsons: Ralph Tyrone Powell, James Bumpas, Jr. both of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Horace Lee Powell of Ophar, North Carolina; granddaughters: Donna Marie Powell of Gainsville, Florida, Brandi Bumpas, and Alishia Bumpas all of Greensboro, North Carolina, and a host of other nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
