Mr. Michael Vernon Wright, also known as Mike Wright in the community, was born August 11, 1957, to Charles Wright and the late Geraldine Clinard Wright. Growing up on the South Side of Greensboro, Mike was a Boy Scout at St. James Baptist Church, played sports at Warnersville Recreation Center, and later was a Warnersville basketball coach. During Michael's younger years he enjoyed playing pool and ping pong. Michael attended. Ben L. Smith High School and he worked at Ecolab in Greensboro, North Carolina. He was an avid Washington Red Skins fan and loved watching every game. He enjoyed a regular cup of coffee in the morning while reading the newspaper and then taking a stroll to the downtown park area. Michael was very generous with his time shown throughout his works. A part of Michael's routine was cutting the grass at home and of those around the community. Preceded in death by mother Geraldine Clinard Wright and sister Phyllis Wright, Greensboro, NC. He is survived by his father, Charles Wright; daughter, Chwanda McLaughlin (Reggie), Roanoke, VA; son, Tay Barnes, Greensboro, NC, siblings; Doris Winnix (Harvey), Charles Wright, Vickie McCoy (Rodney), Joyce Casey (Elvis); grandchildren, Brailen Burch, Brein Burch, and Tayquan Barnes. Lastly a host of family, nieces, nephews, and special friend, Robin.

A public viewing will be held Wednesday, January 27, 2021, from 4 PM- 6 PM in the Cassie Coote-Brown Chapel of Perry J. Brown Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro, NC.
