Mr. Michael Jerome Potts was born on January 28, 1972 to Shirley Potts in Kinston, North Carolina. He transitioned from this earthly life on July 20, 2018. "Big Mike" as he was affectionately known moved to Greensboro, NC with his family at the age of two. He attended Guilford County Public schools. Big Mike was fun-loving, quiet and well-known by many. He was a devoted family man, who spent his adult life as a provider and protector. He had a passion for detailing cars and carpentry. His was employed as a long time distance truck driver until his health failed. Big Mike was proceeded in death by his maternal grandmother, Aline B. Potts and grandfather, William Roseboro. Those who shared the joy of his life and are left to always cherish his memory are: Mother Shirley P. Mclean (Michael); five daughters, LaMica, Destiny, Asia, Olivia and Ashanti; three granddaughter and one grandson; two sisters Kendal and Dinah Potts; one brother Israel Mclean; two nieces, four nephews; three aunts, five uncles, a special friend, Monique King and a host of other relatives and friends.

A service honoring his life will be Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Cassie Coote- Brown Chapel of Perry J. Brown Funeral Home; 909 E Market St. Greensboro, NC. The visitation will begin at 2:30 pm and the service will follow at 3 pm.
