Melva Elizabeth Grainger was born on April 21,1989 to Darlene and Ernesto Barnaby in Brooklyn, NY. She was very PROUD to be a Broklynite. She graduated Lafayette High School and choose to continue here education at the illustrious NC A&T University studying Early Childhood Development. She also gained her Divaship at college as well.
In her pastime she joined a modeling troop named Verge and turned into a runway stomping queen. She was definitely in her element on that runway! She beamed that AGGIE PRIDE and to her GHOE was a sacred holiday!
Her journey continued on where she met and married the love of her life Gregory Scott Grainger, she was beaming with joy and love, their short journey was filled with so much love, life and happiness. She was always glowing when it came to her husband and her baby boy Chico. She absolutely adored that dog and showered him with love and affection. She was proud and loved Greg's three sons and called them her "Bonus Sons" as well as she doted and spoiled her four "bonus grandkids" who all knew her as "Mama Mel".
In addition she was the most proud GodMother to her best friend Nisha's two children and to them her name was "Fatman" She found a passion for cooking and feeding people and had started to build the foundation of her dream to own a food truck. Everyone always looked forward to MGK Creations delicious plates!
In her passing she is leaving behind her husband, a mother and father, a sister Candice Nichole Cox and a brother Ernesto Barnaby Jr., 3 bonus sons, 4 bonus grandkids, her doggie, too many cousins and aunts and uncles and nephews and nieces to count. Her gift to this world was her loving giving spirit. If Mel had it you had it. And sometimes she would give to you and not have anything for herself.
As sad as it is to not have her with us it is a comfort to know she will be received by her Grandma Melva , Grandma Elizabeth, Grandpa Henry, Grandpa Lloyd, Great Grandma Bertha, Great Grandma GongGong, and her beloved dog Hazel in heaven.
