93 years ago, Mazie Leona Davis was born on March 25, 1922 in Lancaster, SC. She was the last surviving offspring to the late Anner and Leroy Hilton. She was the baby of thirteen siblings. She had five brothers and eight sisters. Mazie was joined in holy matrimony to her husband James Selvin Davis who preceded her in death. She attended Johnson C Smith University in the 1940â??s. Mazie was the oldest living resident of the Hampton Homes community for the past 49 years. In the home, at church and in the community among her neighbors and friends, the strength of her love and concern was constantly felt. She was an amazing woman that never met a stranger that loved and was loved by everyone that she came in contact with. She received Jesus as her personal savior and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she attended until she was physically unable to, however she stayed informed and up to date as she was visited regularly by her church family and friends. She shared with everyone Gods words and took the time to minister and guide those who were troubled or just needed someone to talk to. Â On April 18, 2015 she went home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her daughter Gwendolyn Davis and her son Scotty Davis. She leaves to celebrate her beautiful legacy one son James â??Ronnieâ?? Davis of the home, one daughter Michelle â??Cherylâ?? Davis (William) of Greensboro, A very special granddaughter Tamatha Williams (Jaye) of Greensboro, 2 granddaughters Tamara Davis of Concord & Dana Andrews of Charlotte, 2 grandsons Anthony Allen of Texas & Eric Smalley (Tina) of Greensboro, 16 great grand kids, many nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Her love and memory will be felt for years to come.
