A woman who epitomized the true meaning of tenacity, strength and courage, May Ruth Williamson, exchanged her earthly body for her heavenly crown on October 14, 2014. The second of eight children of the late Theodore Roosevelt and Sallie Belle Williamson was born on December 29, 1940 in Greensboro, North Carolina. Ruth attended James B. Dudley High School in Greensboro. After graduation, she worked as an Administrative Assistant. Although she worked for many organizations in Greensboro, she often spoke fondly of her experiences while working as Office Manager at Hamilton Computer Supply Company. Ruth was a member of bowling leagues at Piedmont and Friendly Bowling Lanes and received numerous awards and trophies for achieving a perfect score of 300 in a ten-pin bowling game. As a lover of words, she often spent her time completing crossword puzzles, and reading all types of books. She also loved watching old black and white movies, and no one could ever deny her love for playing B-I-N-G-O. She was preceded in death by father, Theodore R. Williamson and mother Sallie Belle Williamson; sisters Jeanie Lowery, Geneva Williamson, and Ella Williamson; brothers Theodore Williamson, Jr. (Naomi) and Specialist IV Paul Williamson. She is survived by her children Angela Hollingsworth of Atlanta, GA, Crystal Richardson of Atlanta, GA, and Virginia "Annette" Walden, of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren Justin Johnson, Paris Hollingsworth, Candace Hollingsworth, Andrew Joe, Christopher Richardson and Derrick Richardson; three great-grand children JeLyn Johnson, Jireh Johnson and Peyton Frazier; sister Gwendolyn Bartley (Richard) and brother Hampton Williamson (Gloria); special "Sister Friend" Sharon Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
