Johnson, Officiating~Obituary~Maude Veronica DeSaussure was born to the late Eric and Laura Hinkson on August 12, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York. Maude attended Holy Rosary Elementary School, Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School, and Manhattan Community College.After college Maude worked at the New York Telephone Company for a few years. In 1976 she joined American Express Company where she worked in various capacities for thirty-five (35) years and retired as a Team Leader Supervisor in July 2011.Maude met Moses DeSaussure, Jr. in February 1972 and married in November 1972 (he preceded her in death). From this union they were blessed with six (6) children. On Monday, June 4, 2012, Maude was called home to sit at the table of God.Maude leaves to mourn her memory: children: Shawn, Tyiesha, Anicea, Moses and Craig; daughter-in-law: Jackie; sons-in-law: Brian and John; grandchildren: Samantha, Breana, Bryce, Shawna, Julian, Jalen and Brandy; sisters: Laura and Sherilyn; sisters-in-law: Rosa Desaussure-Porcher and Gloria DeSaussure; her beloved Aunt: Ina Johnson; also cherished and loved by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.Maude was a Matriarch. She would do anything she could for her family and extended her love, kindness, and friendship to everyone she knew. Her laughter was nothing short of priceless.
