GREENSBORO â?? Mrs. Mattie S. Foskey, of Greensboro, NC, passed away on September 19, 2012 at Moses Cones Hospital. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at 2 p.m. at United Institutional Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Johnny Freeman officiating the service. The family will receive guests at the church beginning at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. A native of Augusta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Hampton and Idell Sellers. At an early age her family moved to Greensboro, NC, where she attended school in the Greensboro Public School System. She is a graduate of Bennett College in Greensboro NC. She retired from Guilford County School System as an elementary school teacher after 30 years of dedicated service. A dedicated member of United Institutional Baptist Church, Mattie loved and actively participated in numerous church organizations until her health failed. Mattie leaves to cherish her loss, her husband, John Foskey and daughter Kellye Foskey of the home; daughter and son in-law, Deanna and Brian Odom and grandchildren, Myles and Morgan, of Pleasant Garden NC. Also to mourn her death are a host of special relatives and friends. Perry Brown Funeral Home is handling the professional service for the family.
