Marvin Ferdinand Florence went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 12, 2015 following a long illness.Marvin was born October 30, 1932 to the late Ferdinand and Notre Enoch Florence.A celebration of life service will be held in his honor on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at St. Thomas Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church 633 NC -150 Greensboro, NC. Visitation will start at 12:30pm with the service beginning at 1pm.Marvin graduated from Laughlin High School in 1952 and was drafted into the Armed Forces in 1953. He retired from Proctor & Gamble after 30 years of dedicated service. Marvin was a loving and kind man that loved to sing. He served his church as a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent for many years.He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Troy Florence and Marvin Daniel Florence. He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving wife, Bertice Mathis Florence, children Tommy Florence, Marty (Elizabeth) Florence, Christopher Florence and Beverly (Tavis) Neal, along with a host of other family and friends.
