Marie S. Lowery was born on June 19, 1931 to the proud parents of James and Ossie Slade in Alamance County. She peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 8, 2014.

Marie was the proud owner of 'Marie's Beauty Box'.

In addition to being a business owner, Marie was a very active member and volunteer for her church as well as the community. She held the role of president for the Gate City Beauticians organization and carried many roles of leadership within her church. She was most known for her contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor.

Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten.

She lives to cherish her memory, her loving daughter, Loretta Perry; 3 stepsons, Eric, Timothy and Wyman Lowery; one stepdaughter, Trudy Lowery; four granddaughters, Leslie, Latonya, Larissa and N'Neka; eight great grandchildren, Jasmine, Kiana, Jaylen, Brenden, Jania, Isaiah, Amir, Londyn and Akemi; nephews, nieces, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
