Mr. Mack Douglas Benton entered into his eternal rest early Wednesday morning on April 3, 2019 after a brief stay at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. Mack was born to the late Matthew and Callie Smith Benton on January 28, 1935. Mack was a long-time employee at Foster Caviness, working in produce, and retired after more than 30 years of service. He touched many lives and made many friends who will remember him for his jokes and sense of humor. Mack was an avid fisherman and loved to work outside in his garden. He had a big heart and shared the bounty from his garden, wisdom and fishing without hesitation. In addition to his parents, Mack was preceded in death by his five brothers: Charlie Benton, Thomas Benton, Marion Benton (aka Tree), Harold Benton (aka Squirrel), and twin brother Jack Benton; Sisters: Virginia Smith, Doris Brown and Callie Mae Benton; and one son: Osbey Jett Mack. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife of 36 years: Ruth Benton of the home; one son: Michael (Baronica) McAdams of Greensboro, NC; one daughter: Jannett (Otis) Williams of Greensboro, NC; three grandsons, three granddaughters, two great granddaughters and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. There will be a Memorial service celebrating the life of Mack Benton on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Saint Stephen United Church of Christ, 1000 Gorrell Street, Greensboro, NC. The service begins at 2pm
