Obituary

On the morning of Wednesday August 11, 2021 God called home retired LTC COL, Clifton Girard Johnson. He passed away at the age of 70, at his home in Greensboro North Carolina.

Col. Johnson Was proceeded by his loving parents Clifton and Edna Johnson, as well as his best friend and bother Lt Col Wendell Johnson (Midge). He will be missed by everybody especially his family.

Surviving are his three loving children; Courtney Johnson, Curtis Johnson, Jordan Johnson. Siblings; Mark Johnson, Sharon Lee (Chris), Shelia Robinson, and Ron Johnson. Nieces and Nephews; Roshawn Johnson, Tykesia Johnson, Lamar Johnson (Ashley), Devin Robinson, Rashad Lee, Kayla Robinson and Emerson Johnson. Great nephew Rowan and Aurora Johnson.

Clifton is a member of Kappi Alpha Fraternity as well as a 32nddegree Mason, He was a member of the National organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

His military decorations and awards include the meritorious service medal, the air force commendation metal, the Air force longevity service metal and many other Award/honors.

The colonel was the first African American, as well as the first member of the U.S. Air Force to head a Defense Logistics Agency security / support force.

He loved his church and church family members at prince of peace Lutheran Church. As the devout church Council President.He actively served on The Hospitality committee, PavilconProject and many other committees.

God has called back one of his best children.

A private memorial service will be held at Brown's for the family and church family.
