Frencher, Sr. Officiating~ Obituary ~ Louis Edward Canady was born to Louis Henry and Louise Elizabeth Canady in Richlands, North Carolina on January 10, 1920. He departed this life on Sunday, May 15, 2011. After attending Georgetown High School, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II in France. He was honorably discharged. He began his college career and graduated from North Carolina A & T State University with a degree in Auto Mechanics. In 1949, he was united in holy matrimony to Eloise Madkins of Greensboro, North Carolina and they were blessed with one daughter, Louise Canady Dawkins. He faithfully served Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church in Greensboro, North Carolina for over 50 years on the Senior Usher Board and the Trustee Board, as Transportation Chairman and as a member of the James Varick Club. He was a devoted husband, fabulous father, wonderful son, son-in-law, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. One could always count on Mr. Canady. He was always willing to help his family and friends unconditionally. He practiced the ethics of hard work and unselfishness and his kindness was unending. He was a sports enthusiast and he especially loved basketball. He loved fishing and would visit the North Carolina coast to fish almost every week during the summer months. He lived with his sister Queenie Carter in Philadelphia since 2004 and she cared for him until he passed. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Henry Canady, his mother, Louise Elizabeth Canady, his wife, Eloise Canady, his sister, Vesta Crittenden, San Diego, California, his brothers, David Canady, Waikiki, Hawaii, Kenny Canady, Oakland, California, Dolphus Canady, Inkster, Michigan, Wayne Canady, Richlands, North Carolina, John Canady, Richlands, North Carolina and Robert Canady, Richlands, North Carolina. He is survived by his daughter, Louise Canady Dawkins, grandson and wife, Vincent and Michele Dawkins, great grandson, Carson Louis Dawkins, sister, Queenie Carter(James), sister, Mary Nixon(James) and numerous other family and friends. II Timothy 4:6-7â??For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.â??
