Laura Ann Terry was born on October 25, 1945. She passed away on September 13, 2018. She was a true pillar of the community. She opened her heart and home to all in need. Laura was a true example of compassion and patience; a testament of unyielding strength and determination. She was a woman that loved fully and abundantly; a genuine love that radiated from her very being. In the face of many challenges she held steadfast to her faith and to her family. Laura leaves behind a legacy of resilience, tenacity, and warmth.

Laura is preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice Hester and her father, James Pettiford, her siblings Cavell Turner, Stella Louise Pettiford and Barbara Day, and granddaugther, Chloe Brown. She leaves to cherish her memory three sons and one daughter. Pete Terry (Leslie and granddaughters, Vanessa Bullard and Sunette Hunt) of High Point, NC, Henry Terry, Jr. (Bertha and seven grandchildren ) of Gastonia, NC, Tabitha Brown (Ken and 7 grandchildren) of Greensboro, NC and Deon Terry (Marci and grandsons Chase, Travis and granddaughter Tatjannah) of York, Pennsylvania. Two special grandsons Christopher Terry (Arianna) and Michael Terry (Darrica) and two special great grandchildren Makayla Christine Terry and Liam Michael Terry, three sisters and four brothers C.J. Pettiford of Cedar Grove, NC, James Ray Pettiford (Alease) of Pleasant Grove, NC, Lenda Pettiford, (Willie) of Cedar Grove, NC, Leon Hester of Cedar Grove, NC, Maxcine Barnes (Butch) of Chapel Hill, NC, Stacy Hester of Roxboro, NC and Audrey Craig (Darryl) of Efland, NC. A host of nephews , nieces and cousins. She also leaves to cherish her memory , special friends, Nettie and Eddie Smith and Carolyn McClain. A service honoring her life will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church; 306 S. English St. Greensboro, NC. The service will begin at 12 pm.
