Jordan of Greensboro North Carolina was born July 23,1935 in St James, Trinidad. Best known as â??Johnâ?? by friends and family, he lived in New York City and Alexandria, Virginia before retiring to Greensboro, North Carolina.John, blessed with great talents traveled internationally as a professional dancer in his early years and was a skillful artist throughout his life. After arriving in New York City in 1968, he continued his artistic calling, leading a dance troop that performed throughout; entered and won many competitions. Participating in Labor Day Parades in both Brooklyn New York and Baltimore Maryland for almost a decade; he designed, created and manufactured costumes; and architectural exhibits for which he also won awards. In 2001, a retired auto body technician of almost fifty (50) years, he settled in the Triad, where he attended the Adult Center for Enrichment spreading his love and enthusiasm for life.John entered into his eternal rest Thursday, April 19, 2012 after a long illness. He has touched countless lives; to know him, was definitely to love him; he will be greatly missed.He is survived by wife Cynthia; sons: Neil/Millie, Lennox/Gynise, and Dexter/Amy; daughter: Jenell/Marvin, ten (10) grandchildren: Latoya, Ronald, Lareesa, Darnell, Desiree, Lenissa, Channell, Miles, Devin and Olivia; sisters: Elaine and Wilma; brothers: Sonny, Mervin and Lomax; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
