Kathy Lachelle Wilson Williams was born in Greensboro, North Carolina October 6, 1959. to the late William A. Wilson II and Maggie Mae Carlyle Wilson. Kathy was preceded in death by her brother Aaron V. Wilson. Kathy was raised in Greensboro NC where she attended Greensboro City Schools and graduated from James B. Dudley High School in 1977 also attended GTCC for Accounting. She held jobs during high school and college at Guilford Mills and Maid Rite Sandwich Co. She was employed at Mass Mutual Insurance Co after which she made a career as a Mortgage Loan Processor at American Federal Savings and Loan, and Mutual Saving and Loan. When working for Project Homestead she found great joy in qualifying people to purchase their first homes, there are a great number of people who would not have accomplished the American dream if it were not for all of her diligent work and guidance. After landing a job at The Bank Of America Corporate Office, she relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 1996. In Atlanta she was a faithful member of Victory Outreach for several years, where she traveled all over the country as a missionary spreading the love of God everywhere she went. She never met a stranger, would give you her last she took the love of Jesus everywhere. In 2012 she relocated back to Greensboro and returned to her home Church Mount Zion Baptist church where she was a faithful member Kathy spent her final days at Beacon Place as she fought her battle to bladder cancer where she was surrounded by family and friend she lost here battle but won her crown May 29, 2018 Kathy leaves to cherish her memory her stepmother Annie D. Wilson two daughters Lachelle Pennix and Lelia Harris Of Greensboro, NC Brothers William A. Wilson III of Riviera Beach FL and Travis K. Wilson of Raleigh, NC Sisters Wanda R. Wilson and Katrina N. Wilson-Milton (Calvin) Carleen L. Wilson all of Greensboro, NC Two Grandchildren Cameron J. Harris and Trinity R. Harris of Greensboro, NC A Host of Nieces & Nephews Long time friend of 40+ years Gloria J. Poteat Coleman and Best friend Tami Boyd Douglas and a host of family and friends

A service honoring her life will be held Monday, June 4, 2018 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church; 1301 Alamance Church Rd. Greensboro, NC. The visitation will begin at 12:30 pm and the service will follow at 1 pm.
