Kathleen (Kat) B. Thompson entered into eternal rest on Thursday August 6, 2015 peacefully in her home. She was born on December 16, 1938 and was raised in Raleigh, NC. She was a graduate of Ligon High School and graduated from North Carolina A&T State University. She was also a member of Black Socialites. Kathleen was a member of Believers Missionary Baptist Church. She retired from United Child Development on August 23, 1997. She served 30 years of dedication and commitment. Kathleen had an unwavering faith in God. She was very strong willed and had a contagious smile. She enjoyed helping others and had a zest for life. Some of her favorite scriptures were Proverbs 3:5 and Philippians 4:13. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She enjoyed spending a great deal of her time shopping and eating at her favorite restaurants. She was preceded in death by her mother Elease Moore Bledsoe and her father Archie B. Bledsoe; husband Charles E. Thompson; daughter: Monica E. Thompson; sisters: Willa Chavis, Elsie Bledsoe, brothers: James Clinton and Archie Bledsoe Jr.; brother-in-laws: William Smith, Frankie Smith; sister-in-laws: Betty Joe Ames, Doris Floyd, Barbara Jean Donnell and Crista Bledsoe. Kathleen is survived by her children: Keith E. Thompson and Kathleen Nichole Thompson Cheek; brothers: Richard E. Bledsoe and Corneilus Bledsoe (Carolyn Bledsoe); sister-in-laws: Lila Armstrong, Marion Headen, and Brenda Bledsoe; seven grandchildren: Brandon L. Thompson, Tia N. Steens, Jasmine S. Steens, Randy D. Brown, Tequesha E. Cheek, Toni N. Cheek and Kiara M. Steens; nine great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
