Mrs. Kathalee Moravian Rogers was born November 3, 1921 in Bennettsville, SC to the late Willie and Rosa Moravian, departed this earthly life on February 7, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital of High Point, NC. She was one of nine children born to Willie and Rosa Moravian. Kathalee, was a long time member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC until, because of declining health she could no longer attend. Kathalee, as a young adult moved to Greensboro, NC where she met Herbert C. Rogers. They were united in holy matrimony on August 23, 1949 and raised a family of 4 girls. She spent many years as a homemaker until she returned to work at Cone Mills- Revolution Plant. When she became a grandmother at the age of 62, she retired to care for a granddaughter. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, fishing, and cooking. She took classes to learn cake decorating, painting, and floral arrangement. She cut her own yard up into her early eighties. In addition to her parents, Kathalee was preceded in death by her husband Herbert C. Rogers, 3 Sisters Rosa, Lillian, and Dorothy, 5 Brothers Wallace, Buck, Buddy, Rufus and Willie, and 2 Son-In-Laws William Roper and James Foddrell. She leaves behind 4 daughters Rosalyn Roper (of the home) Archdale, NC, Linda Foddrell Liberty, NC, Gail Robertson (Robert) Greensboro, NC, Alanna Hopkins, Greensboro, NC, 3 Grandchildren Raina Roper Burlington, NC, Courtney Roper (Shaun) Kannapolis, NC, Janelle Robertson, Greensboro, NC, Great Granddaughter Abrielle Long Kannapolis, NC, Sister- In-Law Betty Moravian Greensboro, NC, Brother- In-Law Joseph Jackson Brooklyn, NY, Nephew Charlie Simmons, Raleigh, NC and a host of other relatives and friends. A service honoring her life will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at New Light Missionary Baptist Church; 1105 Willow Rd. Greensboro, NC. The visitation will begin at 10:30 am and the service will follow at 11 am. The interment will take place following the service at Forest Lawn Cemetery; 3901 Forest Lawn Dr. Greensboro, NC.
