Karriem Eric Ahmad Jenkins, ferverently known as 'Eric', was born August 3rd, 1998 in Newark, New Jersey. He departed from this life suddenly on May 16th, 2019 at the age of 20. Though his time with us all was short, Eric left a great legacy of personal accomplishments and academic achievements for us to cherish. Eric demonstrated leadership at a young age by serving on the Youth Choir, Junior Sunday School and Usher Board at his local church. He also showed interest in poetry and oratory competitions in which he won several speech competitions across the state of North Carolina. As a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University Middle College, Eric demonstrated his academic and social abilities by recording over 800 hours of community service hours, serving as Mister Senior and as the Class of 2016 Valedictorian, with a 4.48 GPA. After graduation from high school, he moved on to study Biology and Psychology at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was currently enrolled as a Junior and actively involved in several student organizations and social justice campaigns.

Eric is predeceasd by his mother, Erica Marie Presley. He leaves to cherish his memory; Grandmother- Patricia McCound (Charlotte, NC), Great-Grandmother- Dorothy Woodson (Greensboro, NC), FatherKarriem Jenkins (New Jersey), Uncle- Maurice Gabriel (Charlotte, NC), Aunts- Jamillah Ervin and Hope Ervin, Sisters-Raven, Kiara, Kierrah, Keymoni and Kahlani, devoted Mother-figure and sister, Gaye and Tamia Stevens (Greensboro, NC), and a host of Great-Aunts, Great Uncles, Cousins, friends and extended family.
